A strategy is the base of trading, without it you‘re not going anywhere. But it’s only a part of the equation. If your psychology isn’t right, the strategy won’t get you anywhere.
The ONYX model explained
I did not invent this model. Many traders use this or similar variations of it. I named it for branding/content purposes.
This model is essentially a combination of:
- FVG
- LQ-sweep
- iFVG
- CISD
At the base of it are iFVGs.
In my opinion it’s one of the most simple models out there.
The simpler you keep it the better your results.
You need context in order to trade this:
- bias
- DOL
Entry criteria vary. Sometimes you get a lq-sweep inside a HTF FVG followed by an iFVG and sometimes it’s a bit different.
Trade examples + entry criteria
As I said, context comes first. You need to pay attention to overall market structure and take it into account. You can trade is many different ways combining different criteria. Test what works best for you and adjust it to you as a trader.
